Ivan Eskildsen Participates in the Advisory Tables on Cultural and Ecological Tourism

Two new consultation tables were inaugurated in the Tourist Office that will focus on historical and cultural tourism, as well as ecological tourism. In this meeting, the administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority participated in this event. Eskildsen said that ATP’s work plans are to strengthen tourism products related to the identity, culture and natural wonders of our country. “Other countries have similar tourist attractions, but we have the Panama Canal with its history and pirates, the railway route and the best coffee in the world: the geisha. If we focus on differentiating our country with world-class attractions, we just need to complete the correct content and develop the infrastructure to promote it as tourism products, “said Eskildsen. The Transisthmian Colonial Route that is divided into the Old Town and Historic Heritage Sites such as Portobelo and San Lorenzo in the province of Colón were presented together with the potential for ecotourism in the Coiba National Marine Park. The purpose of this work table is to create proposals that develop these routes in tourist products.
