In 1961, the first private laboratory opened in the Chitre City, offering its services to central provinces. Its founder, Jose María Rodriguez, opens the Central Clinical Laboratory, in what was known as Calle Meliton Martin, near Parque Union. However, at the beginning of the 1970s, the San Juan Bautista Clinic, the first private hospitalization clinic in Azuero, requested the services of this laboratory, so it moved to its new facilities.
Strategic Alliance of the ’80s
At the beginning of the 1980s, the Azuero Medical Services Clinic (today Dr. Venancio Villarreal) made a strategic alliance with the Laboratorio Clinico Central and requested its services for outpatient and hospitalized examinations. In this way, the Laboratorio Clinico Central is consolidated as the first company in laboratory tests in the Azuero region.
The Expansion of the ’90s
At the beginning of the 1990s, the Laboratorio Clinico Central opened its third branch in downtown Chitre, located on Calle Ramon Crespo, next to Parque La Bandera. Thus, sealing its image as the private laboratory with the best technology and the greatest acceptance in the entire Azuero Peninsula.
