New Panama City Mayor Plans to Improve Economy through Tourism

On July 2 Jose Luis Fabrega  on his first speech as Mayor started to described a number of plans to Improve and develop Capital City, which are included in the five axis of his Municipal Proposal: security, leadership, social inclusion, sustainability and intelligence.

One of Fabrega’s plans is the revitalization of the city as a tourist destination. It will re open the Municipal Tourism Company in alliance with Panama Tourism Authority (ATP). Both will create an attractive tourist circuit that will include: guided tours, visits to historic, cultural and entertainment sites; tours to artisans centers and shopping plazas. The main objective is to reactivate the economy. Another ambitious  plan is to bring back the beach on the Bay of Panama and will focus on taking people to the peak of Cerro Ancon hill and from a restaurant enjoy the beautiful view of the city.
