Tocumen International Airport Sends Early Alert of Migratory Bird Season

Tocumen Airport informed the aeronautical industry about the start of the migratory bird season from North to South America to pass through the national territory. The Department of Fauna Control of the Tocumen International Airport issued an alert to the Control Tower, Operations Management Center, Airlines, “Handlers” and aviation schools, in order to prevent the occurrence of impacts with aircraft and other incidents of risk for air transport.

This year the bird migration season is expected to last from September to mid-December.

With the arrival of autumn in the northern hemisphere, millions of migratory birds from North America make their migratory journey from Canada, the United States and Mexico, passing through Panama to the countries on the South, to avoid the hostile conditions of winter.
