Road to Calovebora, the Conquest of the Veragua’s Atlantic Sector

The Veraguas Province will have more visitors and commercial trade in the area, thanks to the construction of the El Guabal – Río Luis – Calovebora highway, which will benefit the residents of the Santa Fe district  and surrounding communities such as Guabal, Alto Ortiga , La Paliza, Río Luis among others located along this work.

Since 2015, this road, also known as the “Conquest of the Atlantic”, has been under construction, which will benefit 17,000 people, who for decades have had to suffer on impassable roads full of mud as a result of the continuous rains, which has prevented them from many times moving towards their destination.

This route has 35 kilometers of highway with four bridges that now will take all Visitors to the community of Calovebora, a town with approximately 4,397 inhabitants that is dedicated to fishing, agriculture and beach tourism, as well as the sale of arts and crafts. This town has a large coastal area bathed by the Caribbean Sea, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. One of the reasons why the number of visitors will increase thanks to this road.

The Calovebora community keep a sustainable development through its hotel infraestructure, its tour services to Isla Escudo de Veraguas, recreational diving, kayaking, surfing, beach soccer, volleyball and sport fishing.

Now local and international visitors have quick and easy access to this jewel of the Panamanian Atlantic: Playa Calovebora.
