The one who loves to travel and explore the interior of our country, seeks to try and take home some” rosquitas” or bread from La Arena, especially when visiting Azuero. From this longing “EL MOTETE” Interioranos Breads and Sweets is born. An entrepreneurship that brings to Capital City, the flavor of what is ours as Panamanians with unique and exquisite handcrafted products.
Times of Entrepreneurship
With the pandemic, many people are in “survival” mode, as is the case of Ada Sofia Rios Gonzalez, the entrepreneur behind EL MOTETE. Opening a small business has always been in her mind and other family members. The fact that her great-grandparents and grandparents lived in La Arena and Rio Hato greatly influenced her. Since very little, she was thought respect for our customs and traditions, as well as learning to taste treats such as roasted cashew seeds.
Being able to bring these products from the interior is a reality since April 28, 2020. With #ElMoteteEnLaCity you have an ally on days where all have mobility limitations to travel to the interior.
Products and Services
EL MOTETE offers 100% Azuero bakery products. You can order some of EL MOTETE’S already assembled Packs such as:
- Motete “A To ’ Meter”: Rosquitas, La Arena bread, Rosquetitos, Pan Dulce (sweet bread), Manjar Empanadas, Cocadas de Miel.
- Motete “Antojo Interiorano”: Rosquitas, La Arena bread, Rosquetitos and Cocadas de Miel.
- Motete “Burundangas”: Manjar Empanadas, Sweet Bread and Rosquetitos
El Motete can also assembled packs to your taste. They have received special requests from companies to send Motetes Packs to clients and collaborators, where Motetes (manila bag) are assembled with personalized messages. They will soon include new products from Azuero and other provinces, in order to support more local producers.
Purchase and Payment System
Orders can be placed until Wednesdays on Instagram or WhatsApp, to ensure the freshness of the products being sent from the interior. The Motetes are delivered on Fridays. Delivery Services may have an additional charge that may vary depending on location. There is also the option “Pick Up”.
Payments through ACH transfer or YAPPY platform where we are registered as @elmotete.
