The company Transporte Volcan Baru, S.A was founded in 1993, with the faithful commitment to transport personnel, radio technicians, television and radio companies, as well as national and foreign tourists who came to visit our country and wanted to visit the beautiful and booming district of Boquete.
An Adventure to the Top of the Baru Volcano
Over time and observing that many tourists wanted to go to the top of the Baru Volcano but did not want to walk for 12 hours on a rough road, Transporte Volcan Baru was born. Under the leadership of Jose Gabriel Mendez, they reinforced their focus on giving a safe and comfortable transportation service to the top of the Volcano.
Journey that Creates Unforgettable Memories
This tour begins around 3:30 in the morning starting at Boquete downtown. The route is 13 kilometers long, from where the Mi Ambiente gate is located to the top of the Baru Volcano. One hour and thirty minutes is what it takes to arrive at exactly 6:00 a.m. to watch the breathtaking sunrise.

The tour in a 4×4 truck, with capacity for 6 or 7 people, guarantees impressive panoramic views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic at an altitude of 3,500 meters and a cold temperature ranging from 5° to 1° Celsius. From the highest point in the country, you can watch its surroundings, Bocas del Toro, the Comarca, David City and part of Costa Rica, all with just looking around.

This transportation company offers a relaxing time for couples, the perfect place for a family reunion or simply sharing with friends. They also carry real commodities such as chairs and tables in order for each Visitor to sit between one and two hours and contemplate the amazing landscapes, take photos and bring back the most beautiful souvenir. Also, at the top of the Baru Volcano you can celebrate very special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.
Recommendations: wear a wool cap, coats and gloves. It is also a tour not recommended for children under 3 years of age, as well as people with heart problems, high blood pressure, or hypertensives to take this tour.
Reserve with Time and Special Packages
To plan vacations well, reservations must be made in advance, with a minimum of one month when it is for holidays or summers, since it is required to request a permit from Mi Ambiente who are the only approve 15 places per day. Of course, the company is in charge of doing all this process.
They also offer special group packages, a favorable action that the more people the better its price. Guided walks and camping are also offered, so you can see the sunset and sunrise.
