The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) expects more than 200 cruise ships to cross the interoceanic route in the period between October of this year and May 2023, a time known as the cruise season.
On average, about 50 percent of the ships that carry out partial transits engage in some tourism activity in Panama. For this season, as in previous years, the main shipping lines such as Holland America, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean Cruises, among others, maintain their proposal to offer itineraries to make full and partial transits through the Panama Canal.
Additionally, other neo panamax ships would transit the new locks, such as Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Bliss, Celebrity Edge, Caribbean Princess, Emerald Princess, Carnival Freedom, Ruby Princess, Carnival Glory and Carnival Freedom.
