The work schedule established that once the building where the new terminal will operate was completed, the airport’s priority would be the construction of a third runway.
Panama could resume plans this year to add a third runway to Tocumen international airport.
According to the airport’s expansion plan for 2035, planning for the runway should begin once the construction of the second terminal is complete.
The US$900 million-plus expansion plan includes an access road, a new 70 m. control tower, eight outposts and the third runway.
