Panama Canal Prepares Final Proposal for its New Toll Structure after Completing Consultations

Last Friday, May 20, the public hearing on tolls was held, ending the formal consultation period to receive recommendations and comments from the maritime industry on the proposal for a simplified toll structure.

The ACP will ensure that the contributions of the clients in the maritime industry are carefully considered while advancing in the process that began on April 1, 2022 with the publication of the proposal to modify the tolls and the tonnage rules of vessels for the use of the Panama Canal.

The new structure is based on a fixed rate per transit, according to the lock used and the size category of the vessel (regular, super or neopanamax).
