For Ana Jilma de Obaldia, a stained glass is a passion; is to enjoy starting with the idea and each of the stages of its creation, until the stained glass is on its way to its new home. Each one of those stained glass windows carries a little piece of her, it carries love; knowing that whoever owns it, will enjoy admiring it.
She learned the technique of leaded stained glass in 1994, with the architect and professor Elizabeth Castillo, a pioneer of this art in Panama, and who has a vast experience restoring old stained glass.
Custom Designs made with Love
For this reason, at De Obaldia Vitrales they work with love, especially glass with the Tiffany-style welding technique; creating beautiful works of art, which vary according to the light they receive and reflect, producing a diversity of sensations in the viewer.
Stained glass windows range from small and decorative to stained glass with personalized and exclusive designs for doors and windows. Among the small stained glass windows, of which they have created many, we can mention designs on: hummingbirds, angels, unicorns, stars of David, dream catchers, the little prince, astronauts, orchids, sunflowers, chandeliers and many more. Among the stained glass windows of ornaments, they also have exclusive designs, among them are Don Quixote, the Tree Woman, the Rubik’s cube, the lady of justice, the little witch.
This endeavor has created many large stained glass windows, found in residences, used for decoration; they have also participated, supporting charity associations in auctions.

The Process to Create these Works of Art
At de Obaldia Vitrales, the stained glass window is a work of art made by hand, with the best quality of materials, where, at each stage of its creation, something different can be observed, from the idea and creation of the design, then through the cut and polishing, of each of the glass pieces, which are of different colors and textures, the glass is not painted; then each piece is taped with copper tape, and finally it is joined with lead and tin solder, patina and glitter. The fact that its stained glass windows are welded with lead and tin, guarantee its durability, even in our environment prone to corrosion, due to the proximity of both seas.
The motto of this undertaking is: in glass, everything or almost everything you dream of can be created.
Legacy for Future Generations
For the future, Ana Jilma de Obaldia plans to teach classes, together with a friend and colleague in architecture, who is also a glass artist, so that more people fall in love with these beautiful arts, which make the world more beautiful.
