A training and advisory program aimed at the country’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), called Apoya tu Pymes, was presented on Wednesday August 19 by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (Cciap) in conjunction with the National Center for Competitiveness. (CNC) and the Panamanian Institute of Labor Studies (IPEL).
It is an initiative that will allow entrepreneurs to receive advice on how to apply health protocols for returning business activities and how to access bank loans for this sector of the economy.
The idea is that all these virtual trainings; workshops and individualized consultancies contribute to the efficient recovery of SMEs and are useful for restructuring loans previously acquired by entrepreneurs.
According to official data, micro, small and medium-sized companies represent 92% of the Panamanian businesses and are the main employment engine.
