Tourism Expects Soft Loans

The government has already confirmed that it is working on a financial support package for companies in the tourism sector that is currently paralyzed by the coronavirus health emergency. Restaurants and hotels employ around 100,000 people and contribute 2.2% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Entrepreneurs in tourism, including hoteliers and restaurant owners, are waiting for concrete measures that will allow them to escape the specter of financial bankruptcy.
According to the Minister Counselor in Economic Affairs, Jose Rojas, only for the tourism sector there are 15 measures for economic reactivation are being evaluated, since this is one of the sectors most impacted since before the pandemic crisis.
Although the minister did not gave specific details regarding what these rescue measures include, he stressed that domestic tourism will play a very important role in this regard.
He assured that it is very important that these measures go directly to support the people who need it to provide the tourist service and for that, many queries must be made.
