BID will Finance Research to Develop Chiriqui’s Airport into a Logistic Hub

BID Interamerican Bank for Development, will finance a research that will help develop Enrique Malek Airport in David, Chiriqui as a Logistic Hub.
“The airport which is administered by Tocumen S.A. mainly transports people, but each day the need to send agricultural products by plane increases each day”, said Felipe Rodriguez, President of the Occident Regional Competitive Center (Cecomro).
Felipe Rodríguez also said that the BID’s finance will be a non refundable loan and explained that both Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro Provinces will duplicate their agricultural production in the very near future, making it necessary to have an aereal logisitic hub.
