Minsa Will Give an Answer Regarding the Processions During Holy Week

Health officials have held meetings with representatives of the Catholic Church in recent weeks.

Processions have not been held in Panama since 2019. In 2020, the pandemic had already reached the country and activities of this type were suspended.

Since then, the Catholic Church has opted for different alternatives, such as the helicopter tour of the Blessed Sacrament, and during the recent Ash Wednesday, delivering some in envelopes.

With regard to making the measures implemented to reduce the chain of infections by covid-19 more flexible, such as the use of masks and face shields, Minsa indicates that the decisions made must be consensual, analyzed and raised to experts to that they are finally approved by the Presidency of the Republic.
