All\nface-to-face again this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1598408599030_foto-festival-2-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4735\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 80 folkloric delegations usually arrive at\nthis festival and a large number of purely folkloric delegations from all over\nthe country present themselves in the showcase of Panamanian folklore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seven Decades\nof History<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Festival of La\nMejorana is an event created in the middle of the last century by outstanding\nfolklorists from the Azuero region such as Prof. Manuel F. Zarate, Dora P. de Zarate,\nJose Nieves Angulo, Pancho Castillo, Casimiro Smith, Reyin Espino, To\u00f1o\nSaavedra, Benjamin\nDominguez, Dr. Baltasar Isaza, Juan Ehrman, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1598408597311_foto-festival-5-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4736\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The first Festival was held in September 1949,\ntogether with the patronal festival of the Virgen de las Mercedes de Guarare,\ncontinuing to this day.
