Once they have eaten until bursting and their fat deposits are\nat their maximum level, they begin their maritime pilgrimage to the tropical\nwaters of Panama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Migration of\nthe Giants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the temperatures of the\narctic begin to drop, the journey of these giants begins along 8,000 kilometers,\nwhere they practically fast until they reach our country. An incredible event, which leads the males to\nsing the same melody with the greatest possible force in order to conquer the\ndesired female to procreate. These songs can be heard almost 20 kilometers away\nunderwater. A wonder of the marine world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Panamanian\nCitizens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the female gets pregnant,\nshe returns to her feeding sites at the poles to restart her cycle of nutrition\nand fattening. The particular thing is that they will return to Panama the\nfollowing year, this time, with a baby in the womb since the normal gestation\ncycle is 11 to 12 months. Because of this, the Panama\nCanal and the Smithsonian Institute of Panama proposed special laws for ships\nto follow specific routes to avoid colliding with humpbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pedasi and\nIguana Island: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located on the Azuero\nPeninsula, Pedasi is the cradle of one of the best-known folk traditions in\nPanama. Its coasts are one of the favorite places for humpback whales. From\nPlaya El Arenal,\njust 3 kilometers from the town, you can see the whales jumping, it is also\nvery common to find them just 10 minutes after going out to look for them by\nboat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mariato \/\nGulf of Montijo \/ Isla Cebaco: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located on the other side of\nthe Azuero Peninsula, the coasts of Mariato and Isla Cebaco at the entrance to\nthe Gulf of Montijo, the third largest island in Panama, with more than 50 km. of beaches surrounded\nby nature. Here it is common to see the whales making a stop between Isla\nGobernadora and Cebaco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coiba\nNational Park:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another favorite site of the\ngiants of the sea is this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crown jewel of\nPanama&#8217;s national parks, with more than 270 thousand hectares, a unique\nbiodiversity, with 80% of its territory still remaining virgin and surrounded\nby the largest coral reef in Central America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gulf of\nChiriqui: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whales love this area, mainly\nbetween Isla Secas and Isla Paridas.
