Without a doubt, the\nmost famous are the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in\nNew York and El Prado in Madrid. These important places celebrate a special day\nevery year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Celebration with More than 158 Participating\nCountries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1977, every May 18, International Museum Day is\ncelebrated, with the active participation of around 37,000 museums and more\nthan 158 countries around the world. The world day aims to raise awareness\nabout the importance of museums for cultural exchange and enrichment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1636\" height=\"821\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Compress_20220426_201024_4794.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4287\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Power of Museums<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since this day was created by the International\nCouncil of Museums, a different theme is proposed each year. This 2022 the\nmotto is &#8220;The Power of Museums&#8221;, which will promote these cultural\nvenues as incomparable places of discovery that teach about the past and open\nthe mind to new ideas. Topics that this day will cover will be: the power of\nachieving sustainability, the power of innovation in digitization and\naccessibility and the power of community building through education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, museums have transformed their practices to get\ncloser to communities, exploring innovative ways of tackling contemporary\nsocial problems and positioning themselves as platforms for collective\nparticipation in which creativity is combined with knowledge, and where\nvisitors can take on a leading role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1944\" height=\"1296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Compress_20220426_200702_2661.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4288\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Panamanian Museums<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Panama, museums such as the one in Old Panama,\nMuseum of Contemporary Art, Museum of History of Panama, Museum of Freedom and\nHuman Rights, MOLA Museum and the Museum of Biodiversity work to rescue and\npromote history and Panamanian identity in a world with fewer barriers. In\nDecember of this year, the main area of \u200b\u200bthe Anthropological Museum will\nreopen in Plaza 5 de Mayo, where nearly 600 pieces will be displayed.
