This venture began in 2001 when Omayra de Bartlett\nmade the decision to complete her Bachelor’s thesis in Marketing and Sales\nbased on the creation of a handicraft company. At that time, Omayra worked\ncountry painting on wood, for which she took a basic course in matching wood at\nthe Institute for Training and Human Development (INADEH), being the only woman\nin this class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Beginning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2004 our entrepreneur moved to Panama City,\nhowever, it was a bit difficult for her to introduce the country paint product\nline making her work on something else, which ended up in managing the Bartlett Quiel law firm,\nwhich she still continues to do partially today. In 2019, her daughter wanted\nto make jewelry and began to venture into other creations, encouraging her to\nresume her craft business. This was the moment when the new era of Omy’s &\nVicky’s Crafts officially began, developing a completely new branding and including\nmedia such as social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspiration During the Pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the pandemic, she expanded the production line,\npainted personalized clay pots. He also decorated a hat for the first family trip\nafter confinement, making such an impact that a Panamanian woman liked it and\nplaced an order to take it to Costa Rica as a gift. This fact broadened\nOmayra’s vision to expand her line to start making mask holders, decorated\ntotumas and many more ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each Piece of Art is Handmade and Special<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the benefits at Omy’s & Vicky’s Crafts is\nthat it works with the original and unique part of each piece, which must be\nhandmade and special. Each art piece is different, it has a different touch, and\nshe likes to personalize it to create authenticity. The works are made in wood\n(chests, signs, bottle openers, decorated tablets, shoemakers, etc). She also\nworks pumpkins for decoration, hanging pots, lamps, candle holders, birdhouses,\netc. She also paints custom clay pots, hand-sewn and decorated hats, jewelry in\ngeneral and resin (key rings, ring holders, jewelry holders).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspiration Born from Each Client<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most inspiring thing for this entrepreneurship is\nto work on personalized art pieces, especially when clients ask for details, requests\nfor household things that distinguish them, paint pots with their pets whether\nthey are alive and even as a memory when they have passed away. What satisfies\nOmayra the most is reaching customer expectations and even exceeding them,\nmaking each piece or product something very special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Promising Future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a future project, Omayra is working to have her own\nstore with the Omy’s & Vicky’s Crafts workshop. A place that will help\npeople learn more about the business, facilitate sales and inspire other\nPanamanians to start their own businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is also considering covering other product areas,\ncontinuing to imagine other creations. For this entrepreneur, imagination has\nno limits, and even more so when customers are the ones who open horizons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capable and Empowered Women<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this women\u2019s month, Omayra reflects and feels that\nthe role of women is increasing in human quality and professionalism. Every day\nthey are force to prove to themselves and to others that they are capable of\nempowering their lives and benefiting from their talents, both financially, for\nfulfillment and self-improvement. For her, it is a time that demands more\ndedication and tenacity from women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
