During the years of the economic\nboom, Nombre de Dios was attacked and burned by the famous English pirate\nFrancis Drake in 1572, which allowed the City of Portobelo to later become the\nAtlantic terminal of \u201cCamino Real&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Pearl that Shines in the Caribbean of Colon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a topography that is characterized by different levels of\naltitude, ranging from sea level to a thousand meters high, Nombre de Dios has\nbeautiful coastal beaches with crystal clear blue waters, whose approximate\nlength is two kilometers with a width of considerable proportions, ideal for\nthe enjoyment of beach tourism, relaxation and all kinds of aquatic fun.\nLikewise, Nombre de Dios has interior riverine lowlands and interior highlands;\nlow areas of\nalluvium, swamps, sandbanks; primary tropical forests. The first section\nis located in the village lined with houses. The second stretch to the east there is only sand\nand palm trees. This tropical paradise seduces Visitors with its warm and\ncrystal clear waters, surrounded by nature and more nature. On the green grass, you can find\nan abandoned anchor that, according to the fishermen, has been there since the\ntime of the conquest. In\nthis sector, the water level is deeper and you can see various marine\nspecies including sea urchins, fish and manta rays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nombre de Dios is a true treasure of the Caribbean province.
