Always trying to allude to a\nhistorical and social family legacy, applying it both in his artistic and\nliterary projects and even in altruistic work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting the new year\n2022, Raul Arango Chiari agrees to talk with The Visitor\/ El Visitante, about\nhis perspectives on how the image of Panama could be best sold through\ninitiatives and visual events in order to capture greater interest from\ntourists and locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango06.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Decoration is\nvisual communication. What do you think we need to communicate visually and\nhistorically to the world in a more impressive way?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur beloved country\nhas had the strength to expose through its history moments of glory and pain.\nWe have attributes that make us unique, perhaps a product of that crossbreeding\nthat intertwined cultures until it became a country that can achieve great goals.\nIf we see Panama under the examining eyes of a visitor, we would be surprised\nto find within a short distance a modern city, an Old Town in progress,\nnational parks, the Canal &#8211; our most effective visual communication &#8211; abroad.\nThat visitor would try to dance with our pollera and the montuno, would be\nsurprised by the Congo dance; and enjoy the history of our indigenous people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango01.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The story to tell, is\nto show ourselves as we are. A country that lives in peace, surrounded by\nnatural and cultural richness\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you feel that\nour history is well captured in museums and public places? What we need to add\nto connect even more with visitors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango07.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is necessary to\nhave a common agreement on a visual communication project. Where our museums\ninvite visitors, not only because of the content they exhibit, but also because\nof the capacity for imagination that they must awaken in the visitor. Each\nmuseum must be a place to go through the past, but that allows us to imagine a\nfuture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying under the\nconcept of a static museum, without taking advantage of new technologies, we\nwill be condemning it to oblivion. Museums require imagination and people who\nlive each art, portrait, or article, they are their first sellers\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango05.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Which Panamanian\ndestinations are the ones that inspire you the most, either to hold an event or\nextract its visual elements for decoration?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe entire country of\nPanama is a painting of many colors, there is no place where with love and\nimagination you cannot produce a work of art. For example Bocas del Toro, with\nits beautiful sea, hardworking people, would be ideal to capture it with palm\ntrees, foliage, fruits, shells from the Caribbean Sea and flowers. Each\nprovince has its identity and they inspire to work with enthusiasm and\ncreativity\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you had to\nselect Panamanian elements to decorate a great wedding in Panama of media\ninterest in the world, what would they be and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWithout a doubt our\ntypical dresses in one way or another would be represented. The orchid, our\nflower of the Holy Spirit, the blue of the sky and the green of our forests,\nGuna Yala handicrafts that are highly appreciated for their color and clothing.\nPanamanian art also deserves all the international promotion\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango02.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You have written\nbooks that have been awarded and received great reception by the industry and\nthe public. Have you thought about making a book of Panama through decoration?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very pleased to\ntell you that I have already made \u201cPANAMA CASAS Y DETALLES\u201d I illustrated in its 251 pages, with\nimages of residences representative of the different stages of our republican\nlife. In addition, monuments and sites appear at that time and progress have\nmade them disappear\u2026. It was designed with the purpose of raising funds for the\nworks carried out by Las Damas de Fundacion San Felipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legacy that we can\nleave to future generations are the records of our history. All the books I have been involved talk\nabout Panama. I grew up in a family where the country was above any other\ninterest\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is visually\nmissing in the most important tourist destinations so that the experience is\ncomplete and exceeds expectations?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cA coherent plan, that is not changed every\nfive years. In terms of the message with induced images we can be quite good,\nbut that organic image that the visitor can take away is still very weak. We\nlack tourist culture within society, from the officials who receive tourists,\nto that Panamanian on the street who offers at least a smile as a sign of\nwelcome. Most people don&#8217;t notice that internal work that must be done so that\nwe understand that the tourist chose us to spend a vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/raul_arango04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"446\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Raul, as he likes to be\ncalled, expressed to us a personal premise \u201cArt is shared\u201d and for that he alludes and thanks\nthe work together with the creatives of the Arango Floristeria team, led by Manuel Paredes.\nHowever, his impetus always keeps him up to date in the design of events with\nthe best artistic quality with a clean, avant-garde and classic style. \u201cI would\nlike to be remembered as a contemporary designer, who may not follow the rules\nor set trends, but never renounced to elegance. It has always chosen the best\nquality flowers to transmit feelings of happiness.
