But the real tourism boom began in 2010, and by\n2017 communities in the surrounding areas organized, began providing\norientation services, and laid out appropriate trails to access this amazing\nwaterfall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/DJI_0064-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7936\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kiki&#8217;s Origin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are myths and legends that are related to the\nname of this impressive waterfall in popular slang, however, the most\ninteresting ones relate it to a large fish that several locals observed and\nthey exclaimed in their language\n&#8220;there it was&#8221;, \u201chere it happened\u201d, &#8220;is here&#8221;.\nAlthough the word &#8220;kiki&#8221; has no translation, the &#8220;Ki&#8221; is\nrelated to coming or going, even seeing and observing in the sense of a location.\nOther people suggest that the correct word is &#8220;Kig\u00fci&#8221;, however, these\nmyths are diluted when facing the largest waterfall in Panama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An Experience of Large Proportions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211016222305_IMG_9460-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7937\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Panama is full of spectacular natural places, but Kiki\nhas an element that attracts the attention of local and foreign Visitors, is the largest\nwaterfall in the entire country, both in height and amount of water. This is\nbecause it is located right on the waist of the Kiki River, generating a force\nthat creates an imposing impact of water when falling on the rocks and the\nnatural pool that is formed at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the Visitors who arrive are impressed by seeing\nand feeling the magnitude of this waterfall. They are also pleased with walking along the\ntrails that the local community has traced to the point that you can walk\nbehind the waterfall without getting wet, since inside there is a large cave\nthat shelters everyone. An anthology experience since you can see a large\ncurtain of water with amazing movements that allow you to observe multiple\nrainbows, created by the rays of the sun and the mist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it and How to get There<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevisitorpanama.info\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_1895-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7938\" width=\"326\" height=\"217\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kiki Waterfall is located in the Ng\u00e4be Bugle\nDistrict of Besiko, at 1 hour and 45 minutes from David City, Chiriqui Province.\nTo get there, it is necessary to travel to the Soloy community on a David-Soloy\nbus route or by private car. However, already being in Soloy it is necessary to\nhire a 4&#215;4 vehicle or wait for the transports from the Soloy route to Cerro\nBanco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The waterfall is located in the region therefore it is\ndeveloped and promoted by its members.
